This summer to say the least has been busy. When we got married in 2008 we had 12 weddings to attend including our own that year. I thought that summer was going to be the busiest summer we have ever had, turns out, that wasn’t true. In the year of our own wedding, we had to reply “no” to some of the out-of-town weddings, but almost two years later we have attended every single one of our friends weddings out-of-town. Both Ted and I have been all over the country and beyond and it’s only July. With bachelor and bachelorette parties and weddings collectively we have been to Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, Northern Minnesota (several trips), Mexico, Chicago (several trips). Our travels have been a complete blast, being able to see friends, enjoy a new city, we feel blessed to not only have so many good friends, but also to be able to go to all of the wonderful celebrations.
We have a short break in our travels and I have to say, I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. As much as I love a good time, a good party, and traveling, I am really a home body at heart. I love my house, my bed, my dog and I am really looking forward to having a few weeks to relax, cook, read and sleep. We returned home today from Walker, MN where our friends Amy & Corey were married. It was a great weekend up north with my friends from high school. The weather was beautiful and we stayed a great little lodge called Chase on The Lake. With all the fun though, I couldn’t wait to get home. I walked into the house around 12:30pm, put on my pjs and woke up 3 1/2 hours later, obviously a much needed rest and Ted has been sleeping on the couch for the past 2 hours that I have been awake. Looks like we are both needing to catch up.
I plan on spending the next few weeks, enjoying my home, making great dinners, exercising (with my new bike, which will be its own blog post soon) catching up on rest and playing with Steveo. A few weeks of rest and relaxation will have me prepared for my next stop, New Orleans!
Here are some great pictures of the weekend. One thing about my girlfriend from Hopkins, they know how to have a good time!
