My Very Talented Husband

If you don’t know this story already, here is the cliff notes version.  The first time I met Ted we were on a boat cruising lake Minnetonka on a beautiful summer afternoon.  It was the perfect setting for a little summer romance and I had my eyes set on the tall guy with the big muscles.  After the boat ride, my girlfriends and I jumped in the car and instantly began talking about the new group of boys that we knew were going to be our sidekicks for the summer.  I mentioned to Missy how cute I thought “that Ted guy was.”  Missy instantly put a CD into her car and said, “well if you think he’s cute, listen to this…”

For the next 3 minutes I heard the most amazing cover of Pearl Jam’s Elderly Woman Behind the Counter that I have ever heard.  It was Ted.  In that instant Ted went from cute to HOT.  I was 20 years old, give me a break!

After dating and marrying the tall, hot guy with the big muscles and amazing voice, I realized that not only does he have such a great talent (he can hear a song on the radio and figure out how to play it on the guitar from memory) but his passion for singing is what is most attractive. Although I wasn’t a proponent of him trying out for American Idol a couple of years ago (kept picturing him doing the “show tune” week and cringing) I figured if he was ever going to be famous he was going to do it on his own merit.  I thought I’d do my part though in showcasing his amazing talent and passion.  Hopefully his music moves you like it does me.

P.S. I know nobody uses MySpace anymore, but its the easiest way to allow people to listen to several songs that he has recorded.  Better Man, Without a Sound, Down and Fix You are some of my favs.  Enjoy!
